Stations and Apparatus

Station 1

Station 1, located at 259 Conklin Ave., is home to Engine 21-1 and EMS 21-1.  Both apparatus are responsible for providing fire and ems coverage to the cities' 6th ward and the east section of the 5th ward.  The 5th and 6th wards are located on the cities Southside, with its' borders being the Susquehanna River to its' North, the Town of Conkin/Binghamton city line to its' east, the Town of Binghamton/Binghamton city line to its' south and the western part of the 5th ward to its' west (approx. Mary St.).  The 6th ward is primarily residential, with several businesses located on or near its' busiest road, Conklin Ave.  This section of the city is unique in that it has high pressure hydrants as well as gravity fed hydrants, you can tell the difference by the color they are painted.  Engine 1 is manned by three personnel, an officer and 2 firefighters.
