The members of Binghamton Professional Firefighters 
IAFF Local 729 are community minded individuals. 
They participate in such events as:


     Heart Cup hockey game versus Binghamton Police to benefit
          American Heart Association.
     Saint Patrick's Day Parade and sponsor St. Pat's 4K road race versus
           Binghamton Police for St Patrick's church restoration fund.
     Special Olympics game booth.
     American Cancer Society; Relay for Life cancer walk, Fire versus
          Police softball game.
     Muscular Dystrophy; Fill the Boot campaign throughout the year,
          Shamrocks for Dystrophy.
     Burn Fund: Benefits for any community resident who is burned or
          injured in a fire.
     Good and Welfare Fund; Benefits members and their family of other
          IAFF Locals.
     Meals on Wheels; Delivery of meals to elderly homebound throughout
          the year.
     Fallen Firefighters Mass during Fire Prevention week; Honoring the
          memory of our Brothers and Sisters both active and retired who've
          died.
     Through payroll deduction, members donate annually and consistently
          to the United Way of Broome County.
     Also included are the hundreds of hours donated annually by members
          to act as coaches, mentors, and leaders for all manor of youth,
          religious, social, and professional organizations.

The result of these consistent benevolent efforts by Local 729 members are tens of thousands of dollars and countless man hours annually.
